Horn

 
Horn is an investment company that focuses on investments in listed and unlisted securities in a broad range of sectors. Horn was established in late 2008 and is a subsidiary of NBI hf. (Landsbankinn). One of Horn‘s goals is to contribute to the development of the Icelandic equity market.

Horn's investment portfolio is well diversified across listed and unlisted assets. Great emphasis is placed on an on-going review and precise analysis of Horn's investment portfolio in addition to identifying further investment opportunities in the market. The company was established to distinguish between the administration of equity investments and Landsbankinn's core activities. Hermann Már Thórisson is Managing Director of Horn.

The Enterprice Investment Fund

The Iceland Enterprise Investment Fund (EIF) was founded in December 2009 by sixteen Icelandic pension funds around the country representing about 64% of the total assets of pension funds in Iceland. The pension funds have since been joined by Landsbanki and VÍS Insurance. The aim of EIF it participating in and shaping the financial and operational restructuring of the Icelandic economy following the collaps of the Icelandic banking system in 2008. EIF intends to achieve this objective by investing in promising Icelandic companies in all economic sectors. Its aim is to build up strong companies with the potential of becoming leaders in their respective fields while generating sound returns for investors.
