As part of an increased focus on Promens external growth, Promens has announced the appointment of Mr Gestur Thorisson as Senior Vice President for Business Development

Gestur joins Promens with experience of acquisitions and mergers having previously worked for Kaupthing Bank as Vice President Investment Banking. Prior to this, between 2001 and 2005 Gestur held key management positions in the fields of operations research, asset planning, distribution and trade marketing for USA based Georgia Pacific. Gestur holds a MSc degree in Operations Research from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BSc degree in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland.

When asked about his new appointment Gestur Thorisson said: “Promens has a remarkable reputation as a global plastics manufacturer, I know there are many exciting developments in the pipeline and I am delighted to be a part of the team and their ambitious growth strategies.”

Gesturs’ main focus will be on acquisitions and exploring new business opportunities for Promens. Based at the corporate head office in Iceland, Gestur will also become a member of Promens’ Executive Team.
