Promens hf. has approved new organisational structure

In continuation of the recent acquisitions made by Promens hf. the Board of Directors of Promens hf. has approved a new organisational structure for the company which will be effective as of July 1st 2007. The main objectives of the organisational changes are to integrate all the underlying businesses, increase efficiency and establish a strong base for further growth and development of the company.

The main change in the organisational structure concerns the Polimoon Group, which since being acquired in December 2006 has been run as an independent company within Promens, but will now be operated as an integrated part of the Promens Group.

The Board of Directors of Promens hf. and  Arne Vraalsen, President and CEO of Polimoon, have reached an agreement according to which he will leave his current position as a CEO of Polimoon as of June 30th, although he will continue to work for Promens as a consultant until the end of 2007.

According to the new organisational structure Promens will be divided into three business units, being Packaging, Rotational Moulding and Components. Special emphasis will be put on Procurement and Productivity & Quality which will be run as support units within the Group. Promens’ head office will continue to be in Iceland, but a corporate service centre will be established in Oslo, Norway, responsible for financial management, IT, procurement and productivity & quality.

The new executive team of Promens’ consists of the following:

Ragnhildur Geirsdóttir, who became the President and CEO of Promens in January 2006, will continue to lead the Group.

Adrian Platt who has been the CFO of Polimoon since 2000 has been appointed the Chief Financial Officer of Promens.

Jón Sigurðsson who has been the CFO at Promens since its establishment in 2005, has been appointed Senior Vice President of Procurement.

Thor Audun Saga has been appointed Senior Vice President of Productivity & Quality. He has held a similar position in Polimoon since 2006.

Aart Fortanier has been appointed Senior Vice President of Rotational Moulding. He has been heading Promens’ rotational moulding in Europe since Promens acquired Bonar Plastics in 2005.

Erik Feijen has been appointed Senior Vice President of Components. He has held the same position in Polimoon since 2002.

Jeroen Hooft has been appointed Senior Vice President Packaging. He has managed the packaging operation for Polimoon in Continental Europe since 2002.

Biographies:

Ragnhildur Geirsdóttir
Ragnhildur Geirsdóttir, has been President and CEO of Promens hf since January 2006. Before joining Promens she held various management positions at Icelandair/FL Group from 1999 – 2005, including being the President and CEO. From 1998 – 1999, Ragnhildur worked at the FBA Bank. She has a MS degree in Industrial Engineering and in Business from University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a CS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iceland.

Adrian Platt
Adrian Platt has been the CFO of Polimoon since October 2000 having acted as Finance Manager at Polimoon Deeside in the UK from 1993.  Before joining Polimoon, he worked as Audit Manager from 1986 at Deloitte & Touche and is a qualified UK Chartered Accountant who holds a degree in Chemistry from Liverpool University.

Jón Sigurðsson
Jón Sigurðsson was the CFO at Promens since its establishment in 2005, and at Sæplast hf. from 2004. From 1999 to 2004, Jon was the Director of Investment at Framtak Investment Bank, Iceland before which he worked for the Coca Cola Company from 1991 to 1999, first as CFO for Vífilfell, and later as the Manager of Financial Analysis and Manager in Business Development at the Divisional office for Coca Cola in Oslo, Norway.  From 1986 to 1991, Jon was the CFO of Hans Petersen hf., and business consultant for Hagvangur Consulting from 1980 to 1986, and holds a Cand. oecon. degree from the University of Iceland.

Thor Audun Saga
Thor Audun Saga the SVP Productivity and Quality held similar position at Polimoon from 2006. Prior to joining Polimoon, he was Director of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) Infrastructure at GE Healthcare and he previously held management positions at Amersham and Nycomed in China and Ireland. Thir Audun holds a M.Sc. degree in Physical Chemistry/Biochemistry from University of Oslo and the Institut Curie in Paris.

Aart Fortanier
Aart Fortanier, the SVP Rotational Moulding, has been heading Promens’ rotational moulding production in Europe since the company acquired Bonar Plastics in 2005. Prior to that he was Managing Director of Bonar Plastics in the Netherlands and Northen Europe from 1999. Before joining Promens/Bonar Plastics, Aart worked for General Electric where he held a number of management positions, worked for DASA - Fokker Aircraft and at Polynorm BV as a product developer for automotive applications. Aart graduated from the Technical University of Delft-Netherlands and has a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Erik Feijen
Erik Feijen, the SVP Components, held the same position at Polimoon from 2002. Prior to joining Polimoon he held several managerial positions in automotive supply companies like Brabant Components and Arvin Meritor. He started his career at BMW München. He has a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master Degree in Business Administration.

Jeroen Hooft
Jeroen Hooft, the SVP Packaging, has been SVP of Packaging Continental Europe of Polimoon since 2002. Prior to joining Polimoon he held management positions with Stonhard (synthetic floorings), Wavin (plastic piping systems) and Dyrup (paint manufacturer). Jeroen has a degree in Physical Therapy from the HIPB Gent.
