Vacuum Blow Moulding
Vacuum blow moulding (VBM) is a unique production process allowing to manufacture flexible and foldable containers with outstanding quality. This technology enables the production of robust and reliable flexible packaging - corresponding also to UN requirements.
Typical materials used:
LDPE
Advantages:
- Flexible and foldable container - Storage space and transportation cost savings due to inverted stacking - Environmentally friendly packaging (recycling advantages) as 50-75% less material than rigid containers - Marketing advantages due to fully printable box |
Main uses:
Different system applications, transport of liquids and powders
Capacity of container:
1-30 litres
Main markets:
| Pharmaceutical, fine chemicals, wine | |
Process description
Polymer is after the extruding process divided with a die into 2 plastic curtains. The moulds are moved close to the border of the curtain and then with a vacuum, coming from the moulds, sucked into the shape of the moulds. The moulds at this time are closing and welding the 2 parts together. Manually assemble follows the extruding process.
It is also possible to add on an EVOH/PA barrier into the process.
